Today’s music guide: Friday

An afternoon with Danish darlings and Irish great talent

The day starts at 13.35 on the tent stage to the sound of DOPHA’s catchy pop songs such as “Pity Party”, “Happy For Me” and “I’m Not Crying You Are”. She is praised time and time again for her energetic and present performances, so there is every reason to come early for the second day of Tinderbox.

When DOPHA leaves the stage, Blæst is ready on Red Stage. At 14.45 they fire up their sunny, danceable pop, which you most likely know from songs like “All In (feat. Lamin)”, “Ego” and “Juice”.

Ireland’s Cian Ducrot has replaced Cat Burns, who unfortunately had to cancel her performance. The up-and-coming pop singer, songwriter and producer has had great success with the songs “I’ll Be Waiting” and “All For You”, which have also landed him a place on the Top 20 hit list in Denmark. He plays at 16.15 on the Tent Stage, the same time that Hans Philip bathes Blue Stage in melancholy. Hans Philip’s seductive, Danish-language R&B caresses you before Medina gets both the tear ducts and dancing feet moving on Red Stage at 17.45.

The evening offers colorful punk, heavenly rock, carnival in Rio and top-drawer pop

At 19.15 you can get a shot of particularly high-energy mix of punk and Eastern European music traditions, when the colorful New York band Gogol Bordello, fronted by the charismatic Ukrainian singer Eugene Hütz, take over Blue Stage.

At the same time, the up-and-coming Danish artist D1MA is ready on the Tent Stage with his huge hits “DRØM MIG VÆK”, “MOONLIGHT”, “DON’T PHASE ME” and the rest of his unique music catalogue, where pop, electro and hip-hop merge into a higher unity.

And speaking of higher unity… The kings of pop, Nik & Jay take on Red Stage with an explosive cocktail of some of the country’s absolute biggest hits and strong performer genes that never fail. It’s going to be hot hot hot hot hot!

When the party with Nik & Jay is over, you can conveniently move on to the next one when Gilli takes the Blue Stage at 22.30. He’ll transform Tinderbox into one big carnival with his tropical hit parade, while PRISMA give a crazy show for the rock-loving part of the audience over on the Tent Stage.

Last but not least, the American world stars Maroon 5 take over Red Stage when the clock strikes 00:00. With songs like “This Love”, “She Will Be Loved”, “Moves Like Jagger”, “Memories”, “Sugar”, “Sunday Morning” and “Payphone”, the group’s impact on the global pop scene has been undeniable. It’s going to be big!

Groove and Magicbox

When the clock strikes 15, the Groovebox tent opens again for Friday’s edition of this year’s comedy program. At 17, the stage will once again be dedicated to electronic nostalgia, as DJs such as Hampenberg and Brooklyn Bounce occupy the tent for the rest of the evening.

After a terrific day with the TooManyLeftHands takeover at Magicbox yesterday, today’s program offers a number of the best DJs from both Denmark and abroad.

It all starts at 16:00, when Danish Baltzer kicks off Friday at Magicbox. He’ll be followed by UK’s Joshwa at 17.15, before Öwnboss fires up the Brazilian dance party at 18.30.

The Bergen duo KREAM take over the turntable from 19.45, and then it’s melancholic dance with German-Croatian Topic at 21.00.

At 22.15, Ofenbach gives a breath of French air, before it all goes down with one of the world’s best and most recognized DJs – Armin Van Buuren himself at 23.30!

Good night and thank you for another fantastic day in your company

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow and doing it all again for the last time this year!
