Jonah Blacksmith
Jonah Blacksmith gives voice to the little things that make life big.
Jonah Blacksmith’s music is like the landscape of Thy, where they come from: open, community-building, and full of love.
Brothers Simon and Thomas Alstrup began with a guitar, a deep love of music, and their grandfather’s name. Johannes “Jonah” was a blacksmith in Koldby, and his warm, grounded spirit forged the soul of the band. Since then, Jonah Blacksmith has grown – in sound and in size. Today, the seven-piece band has journeyed from local community halls to Denmark’s biggest stages, most recently with a completely sold-out album tour in autumn 2025.
They blend folk, rock, and pop with banjo, piano, and synth to create a musical atmosphere that feels both familiar and fresh. Their lyrics revolve around family, nature, and the small moments that make life feel grand. It’s music that’s not just heard – it’s felt.
The songs “Up” (2024) and “House on Fire” (2023) have together surpassed 20 million streams on Spotify and continue to ignite audiences whenever they burst from the stage. Since their debut album Northern Trail in 2014, Jonah Blacksmith has released three more records – the latest, Ages, dropped in October 2025 and reveals new layers of their sound and storytelling.
This summer’s setlist will feature brand-new tracks from the latest album alongside beloved material from their back catalogue. Get ready to experience it all when Jonah Blacksmith invites you to sing along and soak up the folk-pop magic at Tinderbox 2026.
