Spleen United, Parov Stelar and AJ Tracey for Tinderbox
We are ready with another bunch of acts for the music poster for Tinderbox 2020. In addition to the reuniting Spleen United, the poster also features electro-jazz pioneer Parov Stelar, grime talent AJ Tracey, singer-songwriter Banks and big-hitting Danish Jung and Clara.
Since 2013, Spleen United has been on a break “indefinitely”, but now we can finally look forward to a joyful musical reunion with Bjarke and Gaute Niemann, Kasper Nørlund, Rune Wehner and Jens Kinch. The band is again assembled in its original line-up from the breakthrough record “Godspeed Into the Mainstream” from 2005, which offered hits such as “Heroin Unltd”, “In Peak Fitness Condition” and “Spleen Utd.” In 2012, “School of Euphoria” secured the band a Danish Music Award for “Danish Rock Release of the Year” as well as the Gaffa Prize for “Danish Electronic Release of the Year”.

Award-winning producer, DJ and electro-jazz pioneer Parov Stelar was among the fixtures at the Hôtel Costes releases of the ’00s, and in 2007 the album “Shine” secured Parov Stelar the BBC award for “most promising producer in Europe”. The series of dance-friendly samples and hits infused with the electro-swing nerve that characterizes the Austrian will surely kickstart a terrific dance party.

One of the additions to the poster which we have high expectations for is Brixton-born AJ Tracey. Although Tracey is not yet widely known to the Danish audience, 200 million streams on Spotify testify that the British undoubtedly has had a breakthrough in his home country, England. The debut album “AJ Tracey” landed in February, and with hits such as “Butterfly” and “Ladbroke Grove”, we expect that AJ Tracey will soon be reaching far beyond the UK borders.

They were on everyone’s lips with their first single “Jeg Skal Nok Vente” and now Danish Jung are ready for Tinderbox. The sequel “Hun Kommer Tilbage” has only increased the curiosity of what the trio has up their sleeve when they walk on stage in Tusindårsskoven.

Another great Danish talent is Clara, who has just been named “New Danish Name of the Year” at the Danish Music Awards. In 2018, Clara released her debut album “August Eighteen”, which is filled to the brim with catchy pop on hits like “What They Say”, “Suffocating” and “Good To You”. Newest initiatives “Crazy” and “Legend” show significantly more raw attitude, which only increases the expectations we have for the singer’s debut on Tinderbox.

Attitude also characterizes American singer-songwriter, Banks, who broke through in 2014 with the single “Beggin For Thread” and has just released her third album, “III”.
