BILLIE EILISH, LIL UZI VERT, GRETA VAN FLEET and DIPLO at TINDERBOX

A really strong quart of megastars is joined by four names for Magicbox as well as Sigrid and the winners of P3 Prisen – The Minds of 99

A total of 10 names have been put on the Tinderbox 2019 poster today, and the new additions feature four sharp names for Magicbox, two exciting new pop stars, two strong rock bands, a rapper and one of the world’s most popular DJs.

Lil Uzi Vert soon hits one billion plays on Spotify with the number “XO Tour Llif3”, which is his first solo hit after achieving first place on the American hit list along with Migos and “Bad and Boujee”. Like a rising star, he has already collaborated with Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Future and Travis Scott, and since his shows are equally parts punk-inspired death-defying and pop-inspired trap, we can look forward to a wild experience along with one of hip hop’s most hyped artists.

American Billie Eilish has already collaborated with both Khalid and Vince Staples and has received either gold or platinum records for the singles “Ocean Eyes”, “Bellyache”, “Lovely” and “When the Party’s Over”. The songs on her debut ep “Don’t Smile at Me” were streamed more than 1 billion times in less than a year and when she announced a concert in Store Vega in March 2019 it was sold out in no time, even though the debut album is not released yet. It is almost an understatement to use words like “sensational” and “shooting star” to describe the impressive career of Billie Eilish. But there is certainly no doubt that there are great expectations for the singer’s first Danish festival concert.

There are many who love to say that the rock is dead. But it seems like Greta Van Fleet – twins Josh (vocals) and Jake (guitar) Kiszka, the younger brother Sam Kiszka (bass, keyboards) and drummer Danny Wagner – does not care about this statement. The band has converted their very varied musical background to a captivated mix of rock ‘n’ roll with tastes of metal, pop, blues and grunge, which is the result of many years of work in the rehearsal room and good moments in a very musical family. Since their Danish concert debut last year, it has been going really well for the band. They released the debut album “Anthem of the Peaceful Army” in October, which has secured them four Grammy nominations, and their forthcoming concert in Tap1 in Copenhagen has been sold out for a long time.

Greta Van Fleet is the most successful new rock band for many years, and their engaging rock will surely do well at Tusindårsskoven.

There will definitely be a bang when Diplo goes on stage in June. One of the wildest concerts at Tinderbox ever was delivered in 2015, when Major Lazer in the first year of the festival created an extremely entertaining party. Now the popular DJ returns to Tusindårsskoven, and as he showed last summer, he can easily deliver the party on his own. Soundvenue gave six stars for his latest Danish performance (“I have never seen such a well-executed and mercilessly effective DJ set as Diplo’s NorthSide show.”). And if you know Diplo right then there is another phenomenal experience in store for the summer.

In fact, the ability to create a party connects all ten names in this publication, and it is also what you can expect from the four latest names for Magicbox – Dzeko, EDX, Faustix, and Loud Luxury. Just check “Body” with the latter or “Jackie Chan” with Dzeko, both of which have more than 350 million plays on Spotify. There are all big hits which with no doubt fill the dancefloor on the Tinderbox club stage.

Norwegian Sigrid has not released her first album yet, but that will change in March 2019. The winner of BBC Music Sound of 2018 has, however, already had a series of hits including the title track from the upcoming album, “Sucker Punch”, and “Don’t Kill My Vibe”, both of which have been P3’s Uundgåelige. So Sigrid is well on her way to becoming a really big star, who will definitely attract many to her first concert at Tinderbox.

The final artist in this announcement is one of the strongest Danish rock artists at the moment, and with the release of the “Solkongen”, The Minds of 99 has extended the impressive line of hits with the songs “Ung kniv”, “Alle skuffer over tid” and “K før ærlighed”. Because of this, the band was chosen as the winner of the Danish award-show P3 Guld and received P3 Prisen after their most successful year to date. The Danish Quintet’s empathy on the stage has been both fascinating and engaging since the beginning and based on the number of guests who had wished for a reunion with the band in Odense, their concert is highly anticipated.

The line-up for Tinderbox 2019 is, after the first three releases, as follows: A$AP Rocky, Benal, Billie Eilish, The Chainsmokers, Diplo, Dropkick Murphys, Dzeko, EDX, Faustix, Gnags, Greta Van Fleet, L.O.C., Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert, Loud Luxury, Lydmor, Macklemore, The Minds of 99, Sheryl Crow, Sigrid, Skunk Anansie, Suspekt and Swedish House Mafia.

Tinderbox 2019 will be held in Tusindårsskoven in Odense on June 27th-29th, 2019, and three-day tickets can be purchased here.
