Danish DJ and producer Rune Reilly Kölsch is one of Denmark’s biggest electronic exports and one of the most acclaimed artists in melodic techno and house. His musical journey began as Rune RK with the global hit “Calabria,” but under the name Kölsch, he has built an international career and made a significant impact on the electronic music scene.
Kölsch rose to prominence with the album 1977, taking listeners on a musical journey through his childhood memories. This was followed by the successful releases 1983, 1989, and most recently I Talk To Water, where he pays personal tribute to his late father by weaving recordings from his father’s musical archives into his productions. The result is a unique combination of personal storytelling and melodic depth.
With his German and Irish heritage, his upbringing in Copenhagen’s free town of Christiania, and a strong international outlook, Kölsch has crafted a truly distinctive sound. He’s also known for his iconic hat, which has become a symbol of his unique style and recognition on stages worldwide.
