The GAFFA-appointed ‘New Danish Artist of the Year’ KALASET has charmed us and a sea of other fans around Denmark with their irresistible, 80s-inspired indie pop, which they’ve served up with tracks like “Riv I Mit Hår”, “Tag Mig Som Jeg Er” and “Kaos Kan Være Smukt”.
In 2021, GAFFA’s reviewer experienced KALASET live for the first time, and even then, he predicted a bright future for them, stating: “Kalaset has huge dreams, but they also have the talent and the willpower to make them come true.” This turned out to be very true for the quintet from Middelfart, who exudes youthful energy and passion – both on stage and in the studio.
KALASET released their debut album grib mig hvis jeg falder last year, which is packed to the brim with catchy melodies, amazing vocals, and quirky lyrics – woven together by the musicality that makes KALASET one of the most interesting new names on the Danish music scene right now. We couldn’t be happier about that KALASET will kick off Tinderbox this year, as they start the festival Thursday afternoon.
