You know him. Your mom danced to him. Your cousin cried to him. Thomas Helmig has sung his way into our hearts with songs that strike every emotional chord across generations. He’s a guaranteed source of euphoric togetherness and party vibes – and this summer, all of Tusindårsskoven will welcome him back.

When Thomas Helmig steps on stage, something truly special happens. His concerts are both intimate and explosive, as the crowd sings along in unison and becomes part of the emotional universe he creates. His solo journey began in 1985 with the release of his self-titled debut album Thomas – the start of one of the most successful careers in Danish pop history. With hits like “Stupid Man,” “Malaga,” and “Nu Hvor Du Har Brændt Mig Af,” he’s soundtracked everything from heartbreak to celebration for over four decades.

In 2022, Thomas Helmig lost his son Hugo – a tragedy that left a deep sorrow. Helmig found solace in music, and on stage he shared his pain with the audience. His songs took on new depth and intensity, especially the seven tracks from the album Sortedam, written in the wake of his son’s passing.

With his electric presence and ability to convey both vulnerability and joy, every concert becomes an unforgettable experience. The last time we had the pleasure of Helmig in Tusindårsskoven was in 2022 – and we can’t wait to welcome him back when he takes the stage at Tinderbox 2026.
