The Black Keys are ready to return to Tinderbox after 10 years.
Since the 2000s, The Black Keys have left their mark on the international rock scene. With their unique blues-rock sound and uncompromising approach, they are among the most popular bands in the history of garage rock.
The duo, consisting of childhood friends Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, was formed in 2001 in Akron, Ohio, and from the start, they adopted a distinctive DIY approach to their productions. The Black Keys recorded their early music in Carney’s basement and produced their albums themselves. This homemade and authentic sound paved the way for their popularity during a period when garage rock experienced a renaissance, adding a sharp and raw rock style to their repertoire.
Their breakthrough came with the release of the album Brothers in 2010. It was praised by critics worldwide and won three Grammy Awards, including one for the massive hit “Tighten Up.” El Camino followed a year later, elevating their sound to new heights. The album was a huge success, reaching number two on the Billboard 200. The single “Lonely Boy” became a global hit, and the album earned them another three Grammy Awards.
Since then, The Black Keys have released several critically acclaimed albums, including Turn Blue in 2014, which debuted at number one on the charts.
With the release of their twelfth album, Ohio Players, in spring 2024, The Black Keys have retained their Midwest edge and sharp sound, solidifying their status as an unmissable act in the world of rock.
