4 stars of the future to tb25
January 29th 2025
There’s been plenty of activity with announcements for this year’s festival this week.
First, nine names were revealed on Monday, including major artists such as Scissor Sisters, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, The Streets, and Natasha Bedingfield. Yesterday followed with the unveiling of a large portion of the lineup for the electronic stage Magicbox. And now the spotlight is on four rising women, who will also take the stage in Tusindårsskoven this summer.
Dasha
All the way from California comes country-pop singer Dasha, who released the single “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” at the end of 2023 and subsequently saw her career skyrocket to new heights. The track hit #1 on the Viral Top 50 in the US and #4 globally, with over 200,000 videos shared by fans on TikTok dancing to the now-famous “Austin” line dance. With more than 17 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Dasha is well on her way to becoming one of the USA’s next big stars, following in the footsteps of idols like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Kacey Musgraves.
Alessi Rose
From London comes the rising pop sensation Alessi Rose, who draws equal parts inspiration from the cynical humor of ‘90s artists like Liz Phair and the sharp observations of Gen Z stars like Chappell Roan and Olivia Rodrigo. The self-taught singer and songwriter has already delivered razor-sharp pop songs full of humor and heart-wrenching honesty on her EPs rumination as ritual and for your validation, steadily conquering the British pop scene.
Ella Augusta
Representing Denmark, we’re thrilled to welcome the Danish pop singer Ella Augusta for the first time. Still a fresh name on the scene, she’s already made a mark by performing on some of the country’s biggest stages with Benjamin Hav and garnering over 400,000 loyal monthly listeners on Spotify. Songs like “Baglæns” and the Benjamin Hav collaboration “Første Dag” have launched Ella Augusta’s career into high gear
Simone Tang to tb25
In recent years, we’ve aimed to assign the honor of kicking off the festival to a local talent from Funen.
Last year, the task went to the group Kalaset, and this year, the artist Simone Tang will take on the role of delivering the festival’s first performance. Some may already have experienced Simone Tang live as the guitarist for Ida Laurberg or bassist for Ki!, but she’s also an artist in her own right. Her debut album, Things I Remember, released last year, received high praise. Her music is timeless, highlighting Simone Tang’s impressive songwriting talent and knack for catchy melodies.
On today’s announcement, booker Nikoline Skaarup says:
“For us, Tinderbox should be a place where one moment you can experience artists whose hits you’ve been singing along to for years, and the next moment discover new musical loves, giving you a fresh arsenal of favorite songs to carry forward. For me, all four artists from today’s announcement share the common trait of having a collection of strong songs just waiting to become our guests’ new favorites, as well as immense potential to become the next big festival acts of the future.”
