ROYA is an electronic/dance-pop duo from Aarhus, Denmark, consisting of Line Gade and Sebastian Igens.
Line’s distinctive vocals and introspective lyrics merge with Sebastian’s signature syncopated productions to create music that is both emotionally intimate and playfully inventive. Spontaneity drives their creative process: songs often begin as live experiments, random samples, or fleeting ideas before evolving into intuitive compositions that challenge and blend genres.
In just one year, ROYA has built a global community – THE ROYALS – with more than 3 million followers across platforms and over 90 million streams. Today, the duo has more than 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, over 268,000 Spotify followers, 1.4 million Instagram followers, and nearly 1 million TikTok followers.
The band has cultivated a rapidly growing international audience through a string of successful releases, led by “Cruise,” which has surpassed 55 million streams on Spotify. Other standout releases include “Falling (D’Opera),” with more than 8 million streams, and “Ain’t Just A Game,” with nearly 5 million streams.
Following sold-out European tours, including standout shows in the UK and Germany, ROYA recently toured Australia. Their audience continues to expand across key markets, particularly in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.
ROYA’s creativity extends beyond the music itself. Their pre-save campaign for “BOY (Zacaria)” turned fans into collaborators: for every pre-save, the duo moved 100 meters farther away from their studio, culminating in a surreal live performance inside an Icelandic ice cave.
Their commercial appeal has also led to successful collaborations with international brands such as Audi and Gordon’s. The Audi campaign generated more than 1.7 million views across social media, while the Gordon’s collaboration surpassed half a million views.
The single “Just Talk” went viral before its release when a 90-second teaser sparked a fan-driven countdown that generated more than 10 million views and over 1 million likes across social media. The song’s message about finding strength in vulnerability resonated deeply with listeners, encapsulated in the lyric: “Silence cannot keep you safe; don’t wear your secrets like a holy crown.”
ROYA continues their momentum with the recently released “Left / Right,” once again showcasing the duo’s ability to combine emotionally driven storytelling with infectious electronic pop production.
