We’re sorry to break this, but you’ve been living in a parallel universe (pun intended) if you don’t know about Red Hot Chili Peppers and their kaleidoscopic funk-rock.

The Los Angeles four-piece was founded back in 1983 and can therefore look back at 40 years as a band when they visit Tinderbox 2023. Since the release of their groundbreaking 1991-record Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante and Chad Smith have been part of revolutionizing the global rock scene with their funk-infused creations. The album included the high-energy track “Give It Away” as well as the more sensitive “Under the Bridge” both showing the impressive diversity of Red Hot Chili Pepper’s songs.

The follow-up, 1999’s Californication, sold more than 15 million units worldwide and counted tracks like “Scar Tissue”, “Otherside”, “Around the World” and of course the title track “Californication” screaming for sing-along!

Several irresistible songs followed in the years after: “By the Way”, “Can’t Stop”, “Dani California”, and “Snow (Hey Oh)” for instance. And today, Red Hot Chili Peppers are still going strong.

In 2022, they released not one but two new Rick Rubin-produced records, were granted the Global Icon Award at the MTV VMA’s, and went on a worldwide tour with support from the likes of Anderson .Paak, The Strokes, A$ap Rocky, Thundercat, HAIM, St. Vincent, and more.

The tour didn’t include a show in Denmark so it’s a true delight to finally be able to present one of the world’s most influential rock bands, when Red Hot Chili Peppers close the Red Stage, Saturday June 24th at Tinderbox 2023!
