Is Dopha the next big pop star to come out of Denmark?
More people believe she is, and we can’t disagree…
In short time, Dopha has become one of the most exciting new live acts to come out of Denmark and for this, she received a well-deserved nomination for ‘New Danish Live Act’ at the Danish Music Awards back in 2021.
Last year, she had a massive festival summer playing at NorthSide and Roskilde (to name a few). However, Dopha’s talent is far from limited to her live shows.
Her engaging concerts are also based on high-quality pop songs. With a mix of vulnerable ballads, playful melodies, and a rock-infused soundscape, Dopha shows how far the limits of pop can go. And that’s why she’s won over music critics all over the country and most importantly: a growing fan base.
Dopha is hailing from a tiny hamlet outside of Randers in Jutland and released her critically acclaimed debut record The Game in 2021. With songs like title track “The Game”, “From September Till June” and “I’m Not Crying You Are”, she became massive on Danish radio. Actually, the song “Happy For Me” reached #2 on the Danish airplay chart.
2023 holds promises of new music from the rising star and she’s already teased the new material with the two more raw and rock-oriented singles “Pity Party” and “Frenemies”.
Dopha is an ever-evolving artist, and we can’t wait to see what she’s got lined up for her show at Tinderbox.
